Audrey Gauen
Audrey is a St. Louis native who graduated in 2012 from Lindenwood University with her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In her 10 years working in the education field there was a therapy dog that assisted students with emotional regulation. Once she saw the positive impact the relationship between the dog and her students had, she was inspired to inquire more about working with dogs. In 2021 she earned her Dog Obedience Trainer Certification and started working at Dogs For Our Brave.
Since her start at DFOB her main role is a dog trainer. However, she has also organized fundraising events not only to raise money, but to spread the mission of saving two lives at once. “I find this job extremely rewarding. It’s about the bigger picture. Not just the dogs. Not just the veterans. It’s about creating a community where people and dogs feel safe and loved.” She loves to use her teaching skills to teach others about Dogs For Our Brave.
